Wikipedia was founded in 2001 as a service of the Wikimedia Foundation as an open encyclopedia that "Anyone can edit". The articles compiled by Wikipedia are often top-ranked in search engines and can even be integrated as "fact cards" to be displayed in response to specific searches.

Wikipedia is protected under Section 230 of the US Communications Decency Act (CDA) because of having characterized itself as an open platform that allows the public to edit articles and to resolve editorial disputes between editors.

Since May 2019, Epik Holdings Inc and its founder, Rob Monster, have been the target of actions on the part of Wikipedia editors to defame through the use of a biased article that is not open to editing. Any attempts to edit by non-Wikipedia staff, are rolled back or even prevented in their entirety.

If it can happen to Epik, it can happen to anyone.

This petition seeks to hold the Directors and Officers of Wikimedia Foundation accountable for abuse of editorial privilege, and to remove protection under Section 230 of the CDA for cases where there is incontrovertible evidence that Wikipedia is serving as a publisher rather than as a non-partisan platform.
